How to change the password in Smart RG Gateway modem

First of all, log in to the router page. For that open an Internet browser and type http://192.168.1.1 into the address bar, press Enter.


Note: If the setup page does not load, try using another Internet browser. Also, confirm that the gateway is connected directly to the computer and not through another device.

Click on Quick Setup.

For the username and password, type in admin - then click Log In.

Once you log in, then you get the Device Info page with the Quick setup option.

Once you click on Quick setup, you get the Quick Setup landing page.

Type your EarthLink email address in the PPP Username field and your EarthLink password in the PPP Password field. Then click Apply (this information can be found on the DSL packing slip that came with your modem initially).
