How to Change Your EarthLink Password

The simplest way to update your EarthLink Account Login is to visit portal.earthlink.net, click the Sign In button and use the Forgot Password option to reset your password.  Alternatively, if you know your current password, you can login to portal.earthlink.net, click on Account Security and use the Change Password section to update your password.

  2. Click on Sign In and login with your account email address/User ID and current password.
    • If you do not know your current password, click on Forgot Password then follow the prompts to verify your account and create a new password.
  3. Click on Account Security 
  4. Use the Change Password section to update your password.
    • Passwords must be between 8 and 32 characters
    • Passwords must contain at least 3 of the following: lowercase letters, uppercase letters, numbers, special characters (excluding \ and ")
    • Passwords cannot contain dictionary words (like Password or EarthLink) and cannot be your account name or user ID.
  5. Click Save to update your EarthLink Account Password.

The following section only applies to customers with an EarthLink domain email addresses such as @earthlink.net.

Example: I have an @earthlink.net, @mindspring.com or other EarthLink provided Email address and I would like to update the password. You can update your EarthLink Email address password using the same steps above or you can update it directly in EarthLink WebMail.

  2. Login to Web Mail with your EarthLink Email address and current password.
    • If you do not know your current password, click on Forgot your password link and follow the prompts to verify your account and create a new password.
  3. Click on Preferences on the top right of the page.
  4. Click on Account Security.
  5. Select your email address in the Select Username or Email Address to Change dropdown.
  6. Use the Change Password section to update your password.
    1. Passwords must be between 8 and 32 characters
    2. Passwords must contain at least 3 of the following: lowercase letters, uppercase letters, numbers, special characters (excluding \ and ")
    3. Passwords cannot contain dictionary words (like Password or EarthLink) and cannot be your account name or user ID.
  7. Click Save to update your EarthLink Email address Password.
