Zyxel P-660R-D1 - Change Saved Password

Follow the instructions below to replace the saved password for your EarthLink e-mail address with your new password.

How to Change Your Saved Password in Zyxel P-660R-D1 Modem

Open your web browser and go to http://192.168.1.1.

NOTE: If the login prompt doesn't appear after you press Enter, try the following steps:

  1. Make sure that the Ethernet cable from your computer to the modem is in place. (If you are using a router, remove the router from the connection. Only the computer and modem should be connected.)
  2. Try using a different web browser.
  3. Restart your computer. If you still can't get to the password screen after you restart
  4. Reset the modem by holding down the Reset button on the back of the device for 10 seconds and then try again.

You MUST enter the default password for this device with “1234” and click Login to make any configuration changes.
 
  1. If you have already changed the default password for the device, login with that password, and skip to step 5.
  1. If you do not type in the password, you will not be allowed to make any changes to the device.
  1. If you have forgotten the password, reset the modem using the external reset button.

At this time, you can change the default password of the modem. Simply type in what you want the new password to be in both fields and click Apply. Otherwise, click Ignore. If you click Ignore, the default password will remain "1234".

Select Go to Advanced Setup and click Apply.

In the left column, click Network. Then click WAN.

In the General section, delete the contents of the Password field and type in your new password.

Click Apply and exit.
