MySQL Database

MySQL databases let you add popular features to your Web site, such as message boards, e-commerce stores, blogs, and much more. Each database can store up to 200MB of data.

Add database

To create a MySQL Database, log in to the EarthLink Web Hosting Control Center at control.earthlink.net

1. Enter your username and password, then click Login.
   
   Your username is either your domain name or email address associated with your account. The password is what you selected during signup.
2. Click Advanced Tools
   
3. Click MySQL Manager
   
4. Click on Add Database User
   
5. Create a new password
   
6. Click OK on the confirmation window
   
7. Select the database created and enter the password. Click Login.
   
8. Click on CREATE
   
9. Click on DATABASE
   
10. Give a database name and click on Build Query
    
11. Click on Run Query
    
12. Click OK
    
13. You will see the privileges granted for your database
    
14. The database is now created and is ready to be used
    

Note: To protect the information in your databases, use the backup tool in phpMyAdmin regularly.

Change the password of a user

1. Click on a user from the list of users
2. Check Yes, I want to change the password for selected user
3. Complete the following:
   
   • Enter NEW Password - enter new password
   • Confirm NEW Password - re-enter new password
   
   
4. Click Apply

Delete a user

1. Click Delete icon
   
2. Click Apply
