How To Setup Email Forwarding

Summary

Email forwarding allows you to redirect email sent to your EarthLink Email address to another address.  This can be helpful when you want to keep a copy or automatically share your email to more than one address.

Requirements

You will need to login to EarthLink WebMail with the email address to be forwarded.  https://webmail.earthlink.net

1.        Click on the Preferences link on the top right menu.

 

2.      Under the General tab, click on Email Forwarding

 

3.      If you want to keep a copy of the forwarded messages in the email address you are forwarding, check the box that says Keep a copy of received messages.  If you do not check this box, you will not have a copy of any received emails at that address.

 

4.     Under Forward messages to this address, add the email address you want to forward to into the first available box.  You must then check the box to the right that says Enable Email Forwarding.

 

5.      Click the Save button at the bottom of the page to complete setting up Email Forwarding.

 

6.      For security purposes, you will need to validate this change before it can be activated.  This is done to protect your account.  EarthLink will send a text message to the mobile phone associated with your account.  This text will contain  PIN number you will need to enter in to activate Email Forwarding. 

 

7.      Check the box next to By continuing, you agree to receive automated text messages regarding your Account and EarthLink Services and then click the Send Code button.

 

8.     Once you receive the code, enter it into the Submit Code box and you will receive a verification that your changes have been made.

 

9.      Note:  If you do not have a cell phone on file with your account, you will need to complete a reCAPTCHA dialogue (I’m not a robot/click all the motorcycles in this picture).  

 

10.   You can turn off Forwarding by going back through the same process starting with Step 1 and then just unchecking the box under Enable Email Forwarding and clicking Save.  You will need to go through the Code/reCAPTCHA process again to confirm the change.
