E-mail by Phone (EbP) is a service that lets you listen to your EarthLink e-mail messages over the telephone. Email by phone allows you to can call a toll free number from any domestic telephone and a computerized voice command service will allow you to compose, forward and reply to emails. You can also set up your watch list to receive notifications from specific individuals.

No. All you need is a computer that is connected to the Internet to sign up. Once you've signed up, you can call the service from any telephone using the number 1-866-READ-MAIL (1-866-732-3624). If you reply to a message, the recipient needs to be able to play their sound files on their computer. Messages are stored in .wav format, which is supported by most media players.

All operations completed prior to hang-up will be committed. The message that was being played will remain in the original status.
The sign-up process for E-mail by Phone is secure. E-mails listened to over EbP are accessed from a POP3 server, which have the same security provided by POP3 channels. In other words, all of the security protocols that you're used to works on E-mail by Phone.
Please check your e-mail client settings. You may be deleting e-mails off the server while reading them on your computer.
You can say "HELP" at any time to get help over the phone.
You can also say "Talk to Customer Service" to be transferred to a customer service agent.
EarthLink is no longer able to update the password used with an Email by Phone account. If you change your email password, you may not be able to access email over Email by Phone.
