WordPress is an online, open source website creation tool written in PHP, making it easy for anyone to create and publish websites. The following article gives you step by step instructions on how to install WordPress using the Web Hosting Control Center.

Log in to the EarthLink Hosting Control Center at: https://control.earthlink.net/. Enter your Username and Password and click on login.
Your Username is either your domain name or email address associated with your account. The Password is what you selected during signup.

Select Advanced Tools.

Select WordPress Installer from the list of aplications.

Click Install Wordpress.
Prior to install, you will need to create a database for your domain. If you do not have a database, we urge you to create one now. It is important to create a database before you start designing your website as it makes your website more interactive.

Create a username and password and type your email address under Administrator e-mail. If you forget your password in the future you can gain access to it through this email address.

Check Advanced Options and select the Database user and Database name. Select the directory were you want to keep your WordPress files. You also have an option to create a directory if not created yet and click Next.

You will receive a confirmation that WordPress has been installed.

Open Manage WordPress and sign in using the Username and Password that you created during installation.
|
|
|
Once logged in you will see the Dashboard, which will give you different layouts and themes to choose. You will also see different plugins which will help you to add contact forms, subscription forms, image galleries and so on for your website.
