If you followed the
instructions very carefully, you should have two files at
this point, one called form.html and the other
called thankyou.html.
- If you are not
online, connect to the Internet and then start
your FTP program.
- Connect to your web
site using your FTP program.
- Upload the files form.html
and thankyou.html in ASCII (or Text) mode
into your webdocs directory
(folder).
- Close your FTP
program.
- See Testing and Retrieving Your Results.
Because these programs are
popular, we present a general outline of the process. You
will need to consult the Help menu of your own program if
you have difficulty following this procedure. We are sure
you will understand EarthLink is not in a position to
support software which we do not distribute.
- If you are not
online, connect to the Internet and then start
your Web Authoring program.
- Open
the form.html page.
- Select the Publish
command (usually on the File menu or the
Toolbar). If you have not published before, you
will need to set the Publishing options.
- After publishing form.html
you may Close it. Repeat the
steps to Publish thankyou.html also.
- Close your Web
Authoring program.
- See Testing and Retrieving Your Results.
- Start your browser
and enter in the URL for the form (http://home.earthlink.net/~username/form.html
replacing username with your EarthLink
username). You should see the sample form.
- Fill out the form and
then click the Submit button. You should
see the thank you page.
- Wait for the mail
message to reach your mailbox (2 to 5 minutes for
EarthLink addresses) and then retrieve your mail.
You should see the data that you entered in the
form.
- Now that you have the
sample form working, modify it to your liking on
your local computer and then upload again. Do the
same for the confirmation (thank you) page.
